The publication “لينا موعد على شط النيل" is a collection of very personal writings (in both english and arabic) and drawings by Layla (@layla.hayfa). It is meant for her trans and queer siblings who relate to making this radical act of self-love by staying true to themselves, even when it meant leaving their lands, families and everything they’ve known, behind.

Layla reflects through this work on the journey of building something entirely new: a life where one can truly thrive, surrounded by people who offer unconditional love.

Layla is a writer, community organizer, artist and founder of @hijra_library, a library, platform and community space in the Netherlands for trans and queer: Non-EU immigrants / in diaspora, refugees, and asylum seekers
